It's to show that ironically, when Dalpo is on the other end of things, he ends up being the kind of reporter he hates, the kind that gives a round up version of a story because its easier, and gives evidence that wasn't taken ethically. But look how he lied and recorded the cctv footage. And also sent that to his boss when he had doubt on it. He slowly become like InHa mom, who had done any means to become a reporter then an anchor.
I like it that InHa will prove him wrong and become a good reporter that she and he want. I didn't like either i thought he should know better because of his past experience. Then i reflected on past episodes. Dal po hates reporters as he stated he is disgusted by them. Its not that he is being a hypocrite by underhandedly filming the footage. But he has no respect for the job reporters. If you respect your job you show more integrity in what you do. Dal po hates reporters therefore he believes he does not need integrity in what he does.
I don't mind the coincidences. In real life it seems that Koreans nurture their connections well cause you never know when you might need someone's help so Here we go Mr Cop.
Reporter Jang is amazing! I was laughing so hard when he gave them the I'm-watching-you sign. There is one aspect of the show that feels weird: LJS plays Dal-po mostly as a subtle, tragic character. PSH plays In-a as a comedy character. As long as they are within their respective genres, they work great. I'm not sure whether that's the acting or the genre-divergence. Now Dal-po is paired with the other female trainee, another unsubtle comedy character.
In my opinion they actually match quite well as actors even when LJS has funnier scenes or PSH has more emotional ones. And I think he matches well with his rookie teammate too, I did not see any awkwardeness in either Park Shin Hye or Lee Yubi in their acting styles.
I think you've actually put a finger on what I've been feeling slightly off about this show so far. The leads excel in different types of scenes. Amazing episode. They're all so funny. I'm not sure if the real reporters would be as crazy as that because I know reporters tend to have more friendship then rivalries. I imagine they'd be more competitive. EBS is another one, but it's more educational and less varied.
Reporters will do anything to benefit their networks, especially during national crisis like the Sewol Ferry incident or something big like the Olympics. I remember during the Sewol ferry incident, all the broadcasting networks went under fire for competing to boost ratings with false informations. It could be also true But I think real life won't be as crazy as portrayed in this drama Well, that's why we have drama.
Rivalries should be more dramatic here ;. I thought it was weird nobody used police scanners. You can now even use your phone to find those frequencies, even without a scanner. Very much appreciated!! Inha telling to dalpo that he is the reason behind her wish to become a reporter. And that elevator scene, I-am-over-you-hiccup-guess-not-moment. Her dead pan face while saying that, followed by embarassment.
Epic scene. Love her And dalpo's jealous face and his love struck face while seeing her sleeping. The chemistry is sizzling. And i absolutely love the Father-Daughter moment. One of the best father-daughter pairing in kdramaland. The acting is so realistic. I adore those two. Then dalpo and grandpa moment. You can feel the love.
And the faces he makes after knowing the loss of his piggybanks. So squishy. It was a fun episode seeing our rookie reporters tackling the harsh reality.
I am finally warming up to Beom-jo. He is just a clueless little mama's boy facing a different world for the first time. I think he has not yet figured his feelings for inha. Just can say he is fascinated by her or obsessed enough to follow her all the way. Guessing, he must have known that inha likes egg white through those text msgs she sent over the yrs.
He looks harmless as of now and just fascinated and curious about all the new experiences. Kinda innocent and adorable even. As for yoo rae, She is yet to sink in. I find her antics a bit cartoonish.
I am sure that feel will go as i see more of her in the coming episodes. Yep, In-a telling Dal-po that she wants to become a reporter because of his speech on the game show, that was a great scene. Yu-rae, well, she would be perfect if paired with In-a, as both actresses use matching acting styles.
LJS's more subtle style with Dal-po creates a bit of a contrast with Yu-rae. I imagine Dal-po running after his brother in a police van, crying and calling "Hyung! The pain he is in breaks the heart of the people who love him. His family. When In-ha finally learns of Dal-po's past and how her mother play a part in Dal-po's loss of his parents, brother and name, I imagine In-ha crying and telling her mother how painful it must have been for Dal-po to grow up with his enemy's daughter.
And for the first time in her life, she feels embarrassed to be her mother's daughter. I dunno as well. But I think it's more because he is her uncle, legally. So that's how the family can be ruin. Uncle and niece relationship.
If they want to get married Dal-po probably needs to cut his legal relationship with his adoptive dad In-ha's grandpa. Actually, I'm surprised everyone seems to be taking this lightly.
From In-ha's classmate in episode 2 to Beom-jo. I have seen other dramas such as Nine where even though our female and male lead are not blood related, they can't be together since they're family in name. Like Dal-po and In-ha.
But in this show people just accept that they like each other. Like Dad and Beom-jo. Even the classmate just In-ha straight if she likes Dal-po. I think it's because in this show it is established they are not related; and everybody knows it.
They don't pretend like they're related for the outerworld, but just for the grandpa. Still I personally do find it a bit icky and wish they didn't refer to each other as uncle and niece expect in the presence of the grandpa maybe. You are totally right. All the running after Dal-po calling "Uncle! At ALL. Idk, I'm a little confused too because I have seen so many other kdramas where a relationship between in-laws, adopted family, etc. I thought it was a big cultural taboo in Korea, but in this show, everyone's just kinda like I think Dal Po is scared to confess after he promised In ha's father that he won't do anything to ruin the family.
However I think In ha might start dating Dal Po when she finds out that he is not really her uncle and not blood related to her, because the only thing that is stopping In ha from dating or doing anything with him is because she think it's wrong to date or to have feeling for her uncle.
Which I totally understand! She knows they're not blood related; I guess she's thinking in legal terms, and maybe thinking about her grandpa. As far as she knows her gandpa would faint or worse if he finds out the truth. DalPo wouldn't confess his true feelings for InHa: 1. Because her father knew DP's feeling for his daughter and pleaded against it. And DP respects his wishes that InHa should be with someone better than himself who is a high school graduate an orphan has no money 2.
DP values his new family and didn't want to do anything to jeopardize the current family dynamic because of his feelings for her. InHa tries change her heart because: 1. She doesn't know he also likes her and thinks he has a girl friend named HS 2.
She thinks he hates her and so she uses their false family tie - uncle to shield herself from liking him anymore. However the writer already hinted many times 1. Her feelings for DP is much deeper and stronger then she thinks and had loved him way longer then she realized.
On the other hand, for DP, even though he promised to in ha ' s dad that he wouldn't pursue his feelings for InHa he has loved her ever since he met her even after he learned who her mother was. Sometimes I think Dal-po is too smart for his own good. Same for his elder brother. It's because he is purposely trying to cover his tracks by taking the cell phone in question to crowded places to turn it on and off, that's why Chan-soo is suspicious that something is off.
I also don't want Chan-soo to be good at his job. Well, yeah, the cell phone ploy was clever and stupid at the same time by Dal-po's brother. On first glance, it looks like a good idea to pretend that the guy was traveling a lot by switching on the cell phone here and there.
But that depends on the police to actually monitor the cell phone, and if they do, they WILL figure out the activation pattern switched on, no calls, switched off again makes no sense. If the guy got the money and is on the run, why would he still use his phone? Especially when he doesn't actually USE it?
From an ethical point of view, I think good police is better than bad police. Yeah, sure, they might find Dal-po's brother, but then again, he is a murderer. And for Dal-po, well, we know that he will learn the truth about everything eventually anyway.
I think Beomjo was indeed sheltered from the world. He might have had some sort of disease or they might have been subject to threats of kidnapping or something in that line I do wonder why we haven't been introduced to his father which caused his mom to become overprotective of him and raise him up away from the public maybe he got home schooled? Btw, I loved Lee Yu Bi in this episode. Every time she is onscreen I wished she had a more prominent character, she is so good, so believable and funny.
One of my favorite young actresses. I never expected we would see Chan Soo again, and as soon as we see him again, he is the cop who will be investigating Hyung and feeding Dal Po with information on the case? Why does Dal Po find out the truth in the most tragic ways? First, he found out his father died in a job interview, next he finds out his hyung is a murderer while covering a news story. Dal Po is a genius in any line of work. I knew he was going to record the CCTV with his phone.
How great is it that Hyun Kyu actually helped him when he made him glue all the shredded papers together himself? His watching her sleep was swoon-inducing.
So Beom Jo is the first to be privy of our couple's feelings for each other. He seems so harmless at this point that I have nothing against him and doubt he will turn evil and break them apart.
Still I want Dad to find out about In Ha's feelings. These male models with bedhead, mmm. Pinocchio syndrome is such a breath of fresh air. I cackle every time she hiccups and apologizes right away.
In Ha is awesome. I love how he protects her by moving her behind his back. Thanks for the wonderful recap as usual.
Hahahaha, this is my favourite scene by far. How cool she just bluntly say 'im sorry, I think I'm not' right after she hiccups for lying she over him. How awesome is PSH in this, she's hilarious laughed out loud at her 'I think I've gotten over you "hicup" I guess not sorry'. I have to say this is by far well play character by PSH. She nailed it. Totally love the way she acted as Choi In Ha. What I can say about LJS, he is excellent at execution as always.
What a great actor. Hoping the writer keep on right track till the end. So far I'm buying the storyline and I feel excitement for every episode.

Dal-po adopted by the family of the woman reporter Dal-po on quiz and hyung not realizing Dal-po compensating for hyung's bumper Hyung meeting the 3 men behind dad's death The chaebol who texted and pretended to be In-ha's mom and meeting her Chan-soo becoming a policeman and meet Dal-po and In-ha again So on And so on Too much!!! I think that the writer is basing it on the concept of six degrees of kevin bacon. Remember the question on episode 1 about how any two people here on earth can be six or fewer links apart I think she using that so thats why there are so many conincedences in pinocchio because they are all linked together by fate I think its somewhat like that.
In fairness, Beom Jo meeting up with In-ha after reading her texts all those years is not a coincidence. He totally planned it and his mom helped him set it up. But you're on the nose with all the other ones. I don't like the fact that their team succeeding also means Mom wins but more than that, I want In Ha to prove to everybody who doubted her that she CAN become a fantastic reporter even if she is a Pinocchio.
I love how determined she is to prove everyone wrong. Even though right now her mom may be using her for a publicity stunt, I'm hoping that in the future, In Ha shows that she's got way more to offer. I'm so ready for it. For someone who gave In Ha and that one Pinocchio a tough time for not weighing their words before speaking, it's pretty hypocritical for Dal Po to not follow his suspicions he clearly suspected something was amiss, having watched the CCTV recording many times over before hitting the 'send' button , to turn the story upside down so that all possibilities were covered.
Just heard the rumor, and now it'll be hard for me to concentrate on the chemistry between Dal Po and In Ha :'. She is?! I havent really heard any of that I mean sure she is linked to all her leading men But all those seems to be just rumors. Park Shin Hye is currently single right now.
